I Have Accepted Trump's Invitation to Attend the First Meeting of the Peace Council: Pashinyan
I have received and gladly accepted President Trump's invitation to participate in the first meeting of the Peace Council on September 19. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a joint press conference with U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance.
It was previously reported that the White House plans to hold Donald Trump's first meeting of the 'Peace Council' on February 19. The meeting is expected to take place in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Institute of Peace, which was officially renamed the Donald Trump Institute of Peace in December.
The Trump administration intends to use this meeting to advance the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, as well as to raise funds for the region's recovery. The 'Peace Council' was originally created to make decisions regarding the future fate of the Gaza Strip, as part of Trump's peace plan, but it later became clear that the U.S. president intends to use the new body to resolve various regional conflicts around the world.
According to the charter of the 'Peace Council,' Trump is its unchangeable president and can only resign voluntarily. Leaders from other countries can only join the organization by invitation from the U.S. president. Most influential countries in Europe have refused to join the 'Peace Council.' Invitations have been accepted by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Israel, Hungary, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and several other states.
