American Technologies Are Coming to Armenia, Pence

During a joint press conference held in Yerevan, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Pence announced that Armenia and the United States have completed negotiations for cooperation in the field of civil nuclear energy.

“We are talking about an initial investment of around $5 billion, and in the second phase, another $4 billion. This is a mutually beneficial situation for both Armenia and my country in terms of energy security and energy stability,” Pence detailed.

The U.S. Vice President clarified that the focus is on small modular reactors, emphasizing the American side's confidence in Armenia. “This means small modular reactors; American technologies are coming to this country. I repeat, this is a situation where our country feels confident enough to export specific technologies to another country very rarely,” Pence said, highlighting the role of the Armenian Prime Minister in this matter.
