Gavar Orphanage Caught Our Attention Due to Misappropriations: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly that he has had dozens of occasions to say that schools and kindergartens are for children, and it is unacceptable to come and say, "As a result of education sector reforms, a certain number of economic positions are being closed." Speaking about the Gavar orphanage, Pashinyan noted that it has also attracted their attention due to misappropriations.

“There has even been an issue with illegally privatized property, which has been returned through the efforts of law enforcement, and now it is state property again. However, we need to resolve all issues in this way. I hope we will do it as soon as possible, although I regret that it is not happening very quickly,” the Prime Minister said.

It is noteworthy that the property previously belonged to the former director of the Gavar orphanage and was acquired in violation of the law, and there is a criminal case regarding this matter. Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan mentioned that as a result of joint efforts with the Ministry of Social Affairs, it has been possible to return and re-register the property.
