Shooting in Yerevan: Attempted Murder of a Man Under House Arrest

Today, on September 9, a shooting and murder occurred in Yerevan. According to Shamshyan.com, around 10:00 AM, operational information was received at the General Department of Criminal Police of the Republic of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the criminal department in Yerevan, and at the Erebuni Division of the Community Police.

The reports indicated that shots were fired at 17 Rostovyan Street and there was an injured person. It was confirmed on-site that the operational information was accurate, and one individual was transported by ambulance to the "Erebuni" Medical Center, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Erebuni Investigative Division on the grounds of murder. At the scene, near the entrance of the building, bullet casings, blood-like traces, and bullet marks on the glass door of the balcony were discovered. Additionally, a metal ladder was found outside, which was used by one of the suspects to enter the house, while the other entered through the front. The man inside, previously convicted for murder and wearing an ankle monitor, fired shots with his handgun, resulting in one person being injured, who later died en route to the hospital.

The shooter was neutralized on the spot by patrol officers from the 1st unit of the 3rd battalion of the Patrol Service of Yerevan.
