Number of Citizens Fined in Yerevan for Not Paying Fare

A total of 354 citizens have been fined for not paying their fare. This was reported during a procedural meeting at the city hall.

Among those fined, 227 were traveling without a ticket, 48 used cards belonging to others with privileges, and 79 citizens made their payment immediately after being urged by service employees during inspection visits. Five fines have been revoked.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan has instructed to establish a specific procedure for appeals, allowing citizens to approach the city hall before filing a lawsuit. He stated, 'Before going to court, we need to have a certain procedure at the city hall where we can review each case, understand all the details, and if necessary, revoke the fine. This means that citizens should have the opportunity to contest the fine right here with us.'
