Are There Any Negative Consequences for Teachers Who Fail to Pass Certification? - Kyaramyan
Are there any negative consequences for teachers who fail to pass certification? This question was raised by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Arghisht Kyaramyan, during a government meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Minister of Education and Science.
“If no consequences are planned, shouldn’t certain negative consequences be imposed on teachers who have recorded clearly low results?” noted the Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded that, ultimately, there will be negative consequences, but individuals should be given a second, third, and perhaps fourth opportunity before the results are summarized. “No teacher who has not confirmed their qualification should work in our schools. This is our strategic goal, but we don’t want to say right now that if you fail the test, thank you, goodbye. There will be second and third attempts, and afterward, those who do not confirm their qualification will not be allowed to work in the public education sector,” stated Nikol Pashinyan.
