Rally Dedicated to Artsakh Held at Liberty Square
The rally titled “Return,” dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Artsakh, commenced at Liberty Square in Yerevan with a prayer led by Father Abdrehas Tavadyan, the priest of the Holy Savior Church in Shushi.
In his speech, Artsakh's State Minister Nzhdeh Iskandaryan emphasized that the day of Artsakh's independence would become a day of return. The minister noted that until that day arrives, it is essential not to lose hope or one's national identity, and to strive for the protection of rights at all costs.
“Every inch of Artsakh's land is marked by the blood of Armenians, evidenced by the names of heroes resonating in every household that will always be heard in true Armenian families. Today is a difficult period for our people; we miss the lands of Artsakh that are far away,” Iskandaryan stated.
According to Nzhdeh Iskandaryan, history has proven time and again the strong character of Armenians, which will enable the Armenian tricolor to be raised again over Artsakh's land.
Participants of the rally arrived with photographs and banners representing Armenian leaders and others detained in Baku, with inscriptions such as “The sorrow is eternal if there is no struggle,” “Ethnic cleansing is a crime, not peace,” and “Without struggle, there is no right.”
During the gathering, former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia and former Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Movses Hakobyan, made statements in interviews with journalists.
