Medvedev Comments on Zelensky's Words

The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, hinted at further actions by Ukraine's leader, Vladimir Zelensky, regarding his remarks about 'victory' in the war against the USSR. This was noted by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, on his X social media page.

‘Finland won its war against the USSR,’ Stubb said. ‘Well, this victory is clearly visible on the map of Finland's lost territories. Apparently, this is a hint to the Ukrainian drug addict on how to explain his upcoming 'victory,'’ Medvedev quipped.

In an interview with The Economist, Stubb stated that Finland 'won' the war against the Soviet Union in 1944 because it was able to maintain its independence.

During a meeting at the White House on August 18, attended by US President Donald Trump, European leaders, and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Stubb expressed confidence that the conflict in Ukraine could be resolved in a manner similar to what happened for Finland in 1944. He noted that the Finns were able to find a solution at that time, and one will be found by 2025.

Previously, Zakharova had advised Stubb to reconsider his comments on Finland's 'victory' over the USSR.
