Russian Peacekeepers to be Deployed in Gegharkunik Province, Ongoing Negotiations: Artak Davtyan

Russian peacekeepers are set to be deployed in Gegharkunik Province. The process is ongoing, and we will keep you informed once a final decision is made. The final decision is not solely based on our desire; negotiations are ongoing, with the other side also involved. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff, Artak Davtyan, during a conversation with journalists today.

Davtyan noted that they will inform about the timeline and the actual execution of the process. “We have nothing to ask Azerbaijan in our territory, but negotiations are ongoing with the Russian side, because there are issues at hand, and our goal is to remove the Azerbaijani units situated in our territory without clashes,” he said.

In response to a question about potential concessions regarding Gegharkunik Province, Davtyan stated that there will be no concessions, and if the issue of removing the Azerbaijani Armed Forces is not resolved through negotiations, it will be resolved through appropriate actions.

The Chief of the General Staff mentioned that the number of Azerbaijani unit representatives in Armenian territory has not changed, and there are currently no incidents.
