Denmark to Require Gas Importers to Prove Fuel Is Not Russian

Denmark's authorities plan to mandate gas purchasing companies to demonstrate that their fuel does not originate from Russia starting in 2027. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a document proposed by Denmark for discussion among EU member states.

"It is presumed that natural gas entering the European Union through borders or transit points with Russia or Belarus, as well as via the Turkish Stream pipeline, is directly or indirectly exported from the Russian Federation unless clear evidence to the contrary is provided," the proposal states.

According to the publication, Copenhagen expects to reach a consensus with other EU countries on a ban on gas supplies from Russia by October.
