Over 600 Dead and 1500 Injured in Powerful Earthquake in Afghanistan

The death toll from a 6 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan has reached 622, with more than 1500 people injured. This was reported by Reuters.

The tremors were registered in the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar, where many homes have been destroyed. Search and rescue operations continue to find those trapped in the rubble.

According to local authorities, the majority of the casualties, 610, occurred in Kunar province, while 12 were reported in Nangarhar.
