Water Levels in Istanbul's Reservoirs Decline

According to the water supply and sewage administration of Istanbul, located in western Turkey, the reservoirs that provide the city with water are filled to below 35 percent, despite being at 48.58 percent in mid-May 2023. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.

“The total volume of the reservoirs and rivers is estimated at 868,683,000 cubic meters, but currently, only 300.2 million cubic meters are filled. Daily water consumption in Istanbul reaches 3,229,000 cubic meters, while only 349.34 kilograms of water have filled the reservoirs due to rainfall during 2023, equating to just 1 kilogram for each square meter,” the media stated.
