No Other Candidate for Minister Besides Arsen Torosyan, Says 'Zhoghovurd'
The internal situation within the ruling authorities is anything but peaceful. This is reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd'.
“Discussions are still ongoing in the ruling elite regarding the unexpected fact of Arsen Torosyan being appointed Minister again. Members of the ruling party, including all members of the executive body, cannot come to terms with the fact that Torosyan was appointed Minister of Labor and Social Affairs by none other than Nikol Pashinyan, who previously dismissed him from this position due to dissatisfaction,” the article states.
“Torosyan himself nominated his candidacy for the ministerial post within the ruling party's executive body; no one else suggested him, and since there were no other candidates, Pashinyan was compelled to take this step.”
“Minister Arek Mkrtchyan was supposed to be appointed as Armenia's ambassador to the USA, yet this position may remain vacant for an extended period, as has often been the case. However, the majority of ruling party members believe it would have been better for that portfolio to remain 'empty' than for Nikol Pashinyan to appoint Torosyan to such an important position with a decision made overnight.”
In short, Torosyan’s appointment continues to remain a shocking decision for the ruling party's majority,” the newspaper writes.
