Israeli Airstrike Kills Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi

Yemeni media reports that Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi has been killed in an airstrike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sanaa.

According to the Al-Jumhuriya TV channel, al-Rahawi died in an apartment in the Bayt Bawus neighborhood along with several of his associates. His death has also been confirmed by the Aden al-Ghad newspaper.

Al-Rahawi had led the Houthi government for about a year and was considered an administrative figure.

Yesterday evening, the Israeli air force launched a series of strikes towards Sanaa. Reports indicate that the attack occurred during a speech by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

Foreign sources mention that the strikes targeted homes where high-ranking officials of the movement were hiding. The decision to carry out the operation was made by Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israeli media.
