How the Shooter Targeting a Catholic School in the U.S. Prepared for the Attack

Mariam Z.

The shooter responsible for the shooting in Minneapolis, U.S. is 23-year-old transgender anti-Semite Robert Westman. According to NYP, he opened fire on the Covenant Catholic Church while schoolchildren were inside. The shooting resulted in the deaths of two children aged 8 and 10, and 17 others were injured, including 14 minors. Following the attack, the shooter took his own life.

Prior to the attack, Westman posed for photos with a weapon, featuring slogans such as "6 million (Jews killed during the Holocaust) is not enough," "Israel should fall," and calls to assassinate Donald Trump. Some of the writings were in Russian.

Journalists report that Westman was inspired by Vladislav Roslyakov, a student from Kerch College who carried out a terrorist attack in October 2018, resulting in the deaths of 19 people.
