Clarification Regarding Injured Soldiers: Investigation Committee

In addition to the statement issued by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, we inform that out of 36 soldiers who sustained injuries as a result of attacks and gunfire on Armenian combat positions, 20 have been hospitalized and received appropriate medical care, while the remaining 16 soldiers have light injuries in the form of abrasions, which are classified as bodily harm by the Investigative Committee in accordance with Article 58, Part 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia. This article states that a victim is recognized as a person who has suffered moral, physical, or property damage directly as a result of an action prohibited by the Criminal Code. A person who could have potentially suffered moral, physical, or property damage if the prohibited action had been completed is also recognized as a victim.

We consider it necessary to emphasize that the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia provide different evaluations of the same incidents, taking into account the functions and specific characteristics of their respective organizations.
