He is Azerbaijani; the same blood flows in our veins: Aliyev on the President of Iran

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the relationship with Iran, particularly with President Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with Al Arabiya.

"He is Azerbaijani. The same blood flows in our veins; we speak the same language, we have no need for translators. He even showcased his knowledge of Azerbaijani poetry during a public event here. He is a very talented person," said Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev also discussed Iran's stance regarding the 'Trump road.' "As for Iran's official position on new developments, we consider it very reasonable and very positive. When I mention 'official position,' I mean the viewpoints of the president and the foreign minister. This is the official position. Well, we base our policy on the stance of the politicians elected by the Iranian people and authorized to perform their duties. And that is the president. There were some voices from former officials, who are now referred to as advisors. I don’t know what advice they are giving. This position is absolutely irrelevant to us. It makes no sense because our intergovernmental relations are based on the relationships between governments, presidents, and foreign ministers.

Therefore, we completely ignore these fabricated stories propagated by so-called advisors. Everything is clear for us. The president's position is absolutely reasonable and based on the fact that the Zangezur corridor poses no threat to Iran," added the President of Azerbaijan.
