Aliyev on Nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, spoke about nominating U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. “Together with my Armenian colleague, we nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He truly deserves it. As I mentioned in my comments in Washington, he has performed miracles in Africa, Asia, and the South Caucasus over the past few months. He wants peace. He is the kind of person who absolutely does not fit the traditional image of a Western leader. You know, American administrations have always loved to lecture the whole world on how to live, how to build democracy, how to conduct elections, and so on. We all know this very well. Some American officials initiated the largest electoral fraud against President Trump, depriving him of victory. Nevertheless, he showed great courage and dignity by returning to America, where all these “frogs in the swamp,” such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Radio Free Europe, and fake news producers, including the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Newsweek, were against him,” said Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Al Arabiya.
