Hamas Leader Proposes Desired Security Guarantors for Gaza Strip

The head of Hamas's political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, has announced that he would like to see Egypt, Qatar, the UN, Russia, Turkey, and potentially the USA in the future as security guarantors for the Gaza Strip, although Israel opposes this. He made these statements in an interview with A Haber television.

“Our demands in this regard remain intact. We want Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Russia, and the UN to be guarantors. Of course, the USA will also be able to join in the future. However, Israel is constantly against this. The demand for guarantor countries is always our top priority,” he stated.

Speaking about the current situation in Gaza, Haniyeh noted that “the resistance is still strong, firmly standing on its feet, and the people are resisting, making efforts to defend themselves.”

“In every part of Gaza, people are showing resistance. The Israeli army has left many areas, and this gives us strength,” he declared. Moreover, Haniyeh pointed out that the assistance from Lebanon is “very valuable for Gaza; without it, the Palestinians would be fighting alone.” According to him, Iran has also “been helping for many years, which is no secret.”
