Where on Earth are the Hottest and Coldest Temperatures Recorded Today?

On August 26, at 15:00 GMT (19:00 Yerevan time), the hottest place on Earth was Ahvaz, Iran, with a temperature of +48.4 °C, while the coldest location was the Vostok Station in Antarctica, at -66.7 °C. This data comes from synoptic stations.

"Synoptic stations are those that send observational data for international exchange to the World Meteorological Organization for weather forecasting," stated Levon Azizyan, director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
