Israel Officially Does Not Respond to Ceasefire Proposal in Gaza
The spokesman of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, has announced that mediators are still waiting for an official response from Israel regarding the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
According to Al-Ansari, Israel has neither accepted nor rejected the proposal approved by Hamas, nor has it offered an alternative, and presumably does not intend to do so. ‘The proposal has been presented. This proposal is 98% in line with the demands put forward by the Israelis several weeks ago. They are now not responding. Therefore, all responsibility lies with the Israeli side, which has not responded to the official proposal presented by the mediators and approved by Hamas,’ he stated to reporters.
Al-Ansari emphasized that communication among mediators continues to work towards achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to exert pressure on Israel: ‘Qatar sees no positive changes in the Gaza Strip, only threats of occupation of Gaza City, attacks on civilians waiting for aid, and assaults on journalists,’ he added.
