Iran Denies Trump's Baseless Nuclear Accusations

The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry has criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for reiterating baseless claims regarding Tehran's nuclear program, emphasizing that Washington’s own intelligence community has confirmed that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons.

In a post on his X page, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei rejected Trump's recent comments, which were based on a previous interview with former Iranian legislators, asserting that Iran seeks nuclear weapons.

“When U.S. President Donald Trump, in his relentless efforts to justify America’s attack on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, chooses to ignore the testimony presented to Congress by his own director of national intelligence in March 2025, which confirms that ‘IC DEVELOPMENT’ continues to assess that Iran is not producing nuclear weapons, and instead relies on a personal analysis from a 2022 Iranian citizen, he exposes the political nature of his claims rather than factual substantiation,” the spokesperson stated.

Iran has consistently denied Western accusations of pursuing nuclear weapons, noting that such claims have been used as a pretext for sanctions, diversions, and malicious military attacks on its nuclear facilities.
