Famine in Gaza: Homes and Shelters Under Fire
Israel has completely destroyed over 1000 buildings in the Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods of Gaza since the city's incursion on August 6. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
According to the Palestinian Civil Defense Service, hundreds of people remain trapped under the rubble. The agency noted that ongoing bombardments and closed roads are hindering rescue and humanitarian efforts. Emergency responders are receiving numerous reports of missing persons but are unable to respond, while hospitals are overwhelmed due to the attacks.
“There is no safe place in the Gaza Strip, neither in the north nor in the south. Both homes and shelters, including displaced persons camps, are under fire,” stated the Civil Defense Service.
Israeli tanks have entered the Sabra neighborhood with the intention of completely occupying the Gaza Strip, forcing nearly one million Palestinians to move south.
