Galuzin on Moscow's Position Regarding TRIPP
Russia is ready to discuss the conditions and formats of Moscow's potential participation in the TRIPP project with Yerevan. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, in an interview with Izvestia.
According to him, the Russian stance on the initiative, named after Trump, is currently reserved, as it is necessary to examine in detail the content of the Armenian-American project and the proposed solutions. At the same time, Moscow is willing to conduct consultations with Yerevan's partners on both the project's main parameters and various options for Russia's involvement.
Galuzin reminded that Armenia's railway network is managed by a subsidiary of Russian Railways until 2038, the country employs a railway gauge of the Russian standard, and Russian border guards are stationed along the border with Iran.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also emphasized Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, mentioning that under these conditions, it is difficult to ignore Russia's participation in communication projects. Additionally, he noted that there are already significant developments regarding the unblocking of regional communications in a trilateral format involving Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan at the level of deputy prime ministers.
