Syria's Foreign Ministry Denies Reports of Agreement Signing with Israel
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports regarding plans to sign a security agreement with Israel. This was reported by the 'Syria' television channel.
In response to an inquiry from the television channel, the Ministry stated that it "denies any information circulating about the signing of a security agreement between the two parties." Earlier, Independent Arabia, citing Syrian sources, claimed that Syria and Israel would sign a security agreement under U.S. sponsorship on September 25. According to sources, the signing of the document would supposedly be preceded by a speech from Syria's interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in New York on September 24 during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
