Pashinyan Family Abused Power, Narine Mkrtchyan
The president of the National Press Club, Narine Mkrtchyan, wrote on her Facebook page: “I was watching Anna Hakobyan’s interview on H1, during Petros’ program. Honestly, I must say that perhaps when discussing Anna's foreign trips, we all unintentional entered her personal life, which I find unacceptable. In this regard, it is humanly understandable that Anna is in an unprecedented situation.
Respecting their right to personal life, it must nevertheless be noted that the Pashinyan family has abused power. The examples are numerous:
- Allocating an office at the government building for the foundation led by Anna,
- Replenishing the same foundation's funds through well-known businessmen, who are accustomed to financing the authorities' orders,
- Placing boxes in supermarkets,
- When traveling abroad, they represent the state, and matters related to family tours should not be resolved during those visits,
- Positioning family members in power,
- It is unacceptable to be intolerant towards the press and criticism, and fake accounts should not be directed against critics.
In conditions of unachieved democracy, there is always the temptation to abuse power. The press and public oversight exist to prevent this.
Furthermore, respecting personal life by the authorities is equally important.
