Pashinyan Prepares for Large-Scale Personnel Reshuffles: No Early Elections Will Be Held
Recently, the ruling party’s initiatory meeting discussed early elections for about three hours, but Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan concluded that preparations should be made for the upcoming regular elections. There will be no early elections, reports the newspaper Haykakan Zhoghur.
According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is preparing for large-scale personnel reshuffles. The Prime Minister's goal is to have tested members of the ruling party ready for the parliamentary elections in 2026, who will not only be manageable but also capable of securing votes.
The reshuffles will affect government members, regional governors, ambassadors, as well as the leadership of the ruling party's board and regional council. Some ruling party members believe that after the preliminary agreement signed in Washington, it is the right moment for the authorities to call for early elections, as the ruling party currently enjoys a high rating. However, Pashinyan and the majority are opposed to this plan, the newspaper wrote.
