After the Resignation of the NSS Head, We Are Not Informed Who is Dealing with the Prisoners' Issues
After the resignation of NSS head Armen Abazyans, none of us are informed who is dealing with the issues of prisoners and the missing in the state system. This was stated by Gegham Stepanyan, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, during a protest rally taking place near the government.
“In a certain sense, there was a channel established for working with state institutions; there is a commission dealing with prisoners and missing persons, which was headed by the former NSS head Armen Abazyans. Relatives had received assurances that work was being done in that direction, but today the fact is that after his resignation, none of us are informed who is managing these issues in the state system,” said Stepanyan.
According to Gegham Stepanyan, the best solution to the problem would be for the commission to continue operating under the leadership of the former NSS head Armen Abazyans.

Recall that the former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, mentioned the issue of resolving the cases of prisoners and missing persons with a previously signed document.
