Paint the Wall on the Mexico Border Black to Prevent Immigrants from Climbing Over: Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the wall on the Mexico border to be painted black. "It will heat up in the sun, which will hinder illegal immigrants from climbing over it," said U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen.
During her visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, Nielsen told reporters, "The wall is tall and very difficult to climb over, almost impossible. It is also deeply embedded in the ground, making it hard to tunnel underneath. And now we are painting it black." Nielsen also noted that this order came from the president, who understands that in high temperatures, anything black will become hotter, thus making it harder to climb over.
The secretary reminded that Congress has passed budgetary laws that provide significant funding for construction work at the border, including water boundary barriers. In turn, the head of border patrol, Mike Banks, discussed plans to equip the wall with surveillance systems and seismic sensors during the same press conference.
