Microbus Overturns on Gyumri-Marmashen Highway: Casualties Reported
On August 19, at 10:43 AM, the Shirak Regional Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding a vehicle overturning on the Gyumri-Marmashen highway, with smoke observed and casualties reported.
A firefighting team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a GAZelle passenger microbus had veered off the roadway and overturned at the 3 km mark on the Gyumri-Marmashen highway; no signs of fire were detected.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, local forces managed to extract the wounded from the vehicle. The rescuers disconnected the vehicle’s power, shut off the gas cylinder valve, and assisted one of the casualties by bringing them closer to an ambulance. The injured individual was then hospitalized at a medical center. Paramedics on site provided appropriate medical assistance to one of the casualties.
