Car Falls into River, Injuries Reported
On August 18, at 15:18, the crisis management center of the Vayots Dzor regional rescue service received a report that an accident occurred on the Vayk-Saravan highway, where a car had fallen into the river.
A fire-rescue team from the regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that at the 149th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, a 'Dodge' branded vehicle had veered off the roadway and fell into the Darb River.
Before the rescuers arrived, the driver and two passengers were pulled from the vehicle by local forces. The rescuers disconnected the battery of the car, closed the gas tank valve, retrieved one passenger from the vehicle, and assisted the injured by transporting them to an ambulance. The injured individuals have been hospitalized at a medical center.
