America Nullifies Over 6000 Student Visas

The Trump administration has nullified over 6000 student visas for remaining after their expiration and for violating laws, including 'supporting terrorism,' Reuters reports, citing a source from the State Department.

This action comes as the Trump administration adopts a particularly stringent approach to student visas within the framework of its immigration crackdown, tightening the scrutiny of social media.

The State Department's directives this year have instructed U.S. diplomats abroad to be vigilant regarding applicants whom Washington may perceive as having a history of hostility or political activism against the United States.

According to the official, nearly 4000 entry permissions have been revoked, as visitors have violated the law, with many cases arising from attacks.

The rule typically lists the grounds for exclusion from the program, notably 'involvement in terrorist activities' and 'having certain connections to terrorist organizations.'

Trump has clashed with several leading U.S. universities, accusing them of becoming bastions of anti-Semitism due to widespread student protests advocating for Palestinian rights during the Gaza war.

In his dispute with Harvard, Trump froze research funding and threatened to revoke the university's tax-exempt status, prompting several European countries to increase research grants to attract talent.
