Zelensky to Spark New Scandal at the White House. EU Expresses Concerns

The European Union is particularly concerned about a repeat of the February scandal involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, as reported by the New York Times, citing a European diplomat.

“The main concern is to avoid another incident like the one in February when Zelensky met Trump at the White House in front of television cameras, leading to a scandal,” the publication states.

According to the newspaper, Trump is set to meet with Zelensky today in Washington, with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance also attending. During a previous meeting, Vance had clashed with Zelensky as well. Leaders from Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and NATO are also expected to participate in the meeting, including Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni, President Alexander Stubb, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
