Ukraine to Continue Gas Imports from Azerbaijan
Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk has announced that work is currently underway on the terms of a contract to ensure the continuity of gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Ukraine via the Trans-Balkan corridor. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
The trial phase of gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Ukraine has already been completed, and efforts are being made to finalize a bilateral agreement to continue such supplies. “We are now in negotiations. Azerbaijan is interested in this. If a contract is signed, we will continue importing Azerbaijani gas,” said Ukraine's Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk, also noting the risks associated with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the escalation of attacks on gas infrastructure by the Russian Federation.
