Russia's Foreign Ministry on NATO Troop Deployment in Ukraine: We Categorically Reject Any Scenario

Any scenario concerning the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine is completely unacceptable to Russia and carries the risk of sharply escalating the situation. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“We reaffirm our repeatedly expressed position to categorically reject any scenario that involves the presence of a military contingent from NATO countries in Ukraine, as it is fraught with uncontrollable escalation of the conflict with unpredictable consequences,” the ministry's comment on the possibility of sending such a contingent was published on its website, amid statements from Western countries regarding this possibility.
