Lebanese Government Subservient to American and Israeli Directives, Says Hezbollah Secretary-General
Hezbollah's Secretary-General Naeem Qassem has declared that the movement has no intention of relinquishing its military arsenal. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
The Secretary-General warned that any targeting of the movement would lead to chaos and internal unrest. He criticized the Lebanese government's plans to disarm Hezbollah, accusing the government of being subservient to American and Israeli directives.
Naeem Qassem called for not surrendering the country to the enemy Israel and to focus on ending the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories instead of disarming Hezbollah.
Previously, the Lebanese government had confirmed a state weapon control decision and instructed the army to develop a related program to be implemented by the end of 2025. Hezbollah has criticized the initiative, stating that the decision is "fully aligned with Israeli interests" and was made "at the behest of the United States."
