Rain and Thunderstorms Expected with Possible Hail in Armenia

On August 12-13, during the night and evening hours, as well as on the evening of the 14th and 16th, short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in various regions of the Republic of Armenia, with a possibility of hail. This information was reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.

During thunderstorms, wind intensification is anticipated at speeds of 17-20 m/s. In the evening hours, in Armavir, and the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn, wind speeds of 15-18 m/s are also expected.

On August 12, air temperatures will gradually decrease by another 2-3 degrees. In Yerevan, on the evening of August 12, and during the night and evening of the 13th, short-term rain and thunderstorms might occur in certain areas of the city. From August 14-16, dry weather is forecasted.

During thunderstorms and in evening hours, wind intensification is expected at speeds of 14-18 m/s.

It is noted that in the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, Aragatsotn, and Kotayk, as well as in the valleys of Syunik and Yerevan, a high-level fire hazard situation is expected in the coming 5 days.
