The HFF Releases a Statement Regarding Ticket Sales

The Football Federation of Armenia (HFF) has released a statement on its Facebook page: "Dear fans, the ticket sales for the Armenia-Portugal match received a massive response. Many blame the HFF for not being able to purchase tickets. The Republican Stadium can accommodate a maximum of 14,000 spectators. A total of 470,000 people submitted requests for tickets. Since each fan could buy no more than 2 tickets, it was possible to satisfy about 7,000 requests. Naturally, around 463,000 fans may complain that they were unable to buy a ticket.

Prior to the official sale of tickets, there were unofficial announcements regarding ticket sales on the internet for months. Now, some are selling tickets at astronomical prices. To combat scalpers, it was suggested that the HFF sell tickets for 100,000-200,000 drams, but the main strategy of the HFF is to perceive football as a social phenomenon. Naturally, such a price increase for tickets could not occur.

It should be noted that of the 14,000 seats in the stadium, around 7,000 tickets were sold at very affordable prices, between 1,000-3,000 drams. Currently, these tickets are being sold in the market at ten times the price. All tickets sold by the HFF will have their QR codes activated on the day of the match, September 6. While scalpers can sell tickets to multiple individuals, only one QR code will be activated. There may also be a significant wave of complaints related to this, for which the HFF bears no responsibility.

Dear football fans, the HFF urges you not to buy tickets from the market to avoid further complications. The HFF is not responsible for tickets sold by others. By not purchasing tickets from scalpers, we can help eliminate this negative phenomenon from Armenian football in the future."
