Karapetyan Family Seeks Compensation from Armenia in the Case of HETC Expropriation

The Karapetyan family has initiated an investment arbitration against the Republic of Armenia regarding the expropriation of HETC (Armenian Electric Networks). This was stated in a press release by the defense council of Samvel Karapetyan.

The family is demanding that the arbitration tribunal obligate the Republic of Armenia to compensate for both the damages already incurred and the expected future losses. According to preliminary estimates, the amount of damages is set at 500 million dollars, subject to final assessment by the arbitration tribunal.
