Tokayev on the Agreement Signed Between Azerbaijan and Armenia
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, described the peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington as historically significant, as reported by Orda.kz.
“The document ended a long-standing armed conflict and opened the way for the establishment of diplomatic relations and the development of cooperation based on long-term peace,” he stated.
Tokayev noted that the signing of the agreement was made possible thanks to the mediation mission of U.S. President Donald Trump, which convinced the leaders of the two countries to exhibit political will and strategic foresight.
According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan also contributed to the signing of the agreements by proposing Almaty as the venue for negotiations between the foreign ministers regarding the main parameters of the peace treaty.
