IAEA Inspectors Will Not Be Able to Check Iran's Nuclear Facilities
Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not be able to inspect nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran during their upcoming visit, stated Ebrahim Azizin, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's single-chamber parliament (Majlis). This was reported by the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
According to Azizin, “Under the laws adopted by the Majlis, the IAEA delegation, like any other foreign inspector, will not have any physical access to Iranian nuclear facilities.”
The Iranian parliamentarian noted that “the IAEA delegation only has the authority to conduct technical consultations with Iranian officials.”
It is worth noting that earlier, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Ismaeil Baqai, announced that the IAEA delegation's visit to the Islamic Republic would take place within the next 10 days.
