US State Department States It Is Not Interested in a Quick Resolution to the Situation in Ukraine

The Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department, Minyon Houston, has stated that the United States is not interested in a "quick resolution" to the situation in Ukraine and welcomes negotiations. The diplomat's remarks were reported by Ukraina.ua.

"This administration is not seeking a quick solution. This administration seeks to achieve long-term, sustainable peace in the region," she explained.

According to Houston, it is also necessary to strive for a "comprehensive, unconditional ceasefire." The State Department representative emphasized that continuing direct negotiations, similar to those held in Istanbul, is essential to achieve this goal.

"We intend to continue standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine," the diplomat concluded.
