High Temperature Observed in Armenia Today by Regions
As predicted, today a high thermal background has been observed throughout the republic. According to the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, the maximum temperatures recorded in several places have exceeded the historical values for this day.
In Areni: 42.6°C (previous record: 40°C in 2011), in Yerevan: 41.9°C (previous record: 40.8°C in 2000), in Artashat: 40.9°C (previous record: 40.7°C in 2011), and in Aparan: 33.5°C (previous record: 32.2°C in 2000).
Earlier, it was reported that due to a wave of tropical warm air coming from the south, a high thermal background is expected in the Ararat Valley, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the valleys of Syunik, and Yerevan from August 2-7. During the daytime, temperatures are expected to range between +39 to +41 degrees Celsius between 16:00 and 17:00.
