Powerful Aftershock in Kamchatka
A powerful aftershock has occurred in Kamchatka following a strong earthquake. This was reported by the press service of the Kamchatka branch of Russia's Federal Research Center for Earth Science at the Russian Academy of Sciences via their Telegram channel.
The underground tremors were recorded today at 13:16 local time (04:16 Moscow time). The magnitude of the aftershocks reached 5.6, which seismologists typically classify as a strong earthquake.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 204 kilometers away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Experts believe the focus was at a depth of 38.7 kilometers. Following these aftershocks, several weaker tremors were recorded, with magnitudes of 4.3 and 4.8.
