Yerevan and Baku Move Towards an Independent Regional Future, Says US Senator

American Senator Steve Daines, in an article for The Wall Street Journal, noted that the South Caucasus and Central Asia are becoming strategic directions for sustainable development and international cooperation.

According to him, Armenia and Azerbaijan are striving for a more independent foreign policy and see prospects in rapprochement with the international community. He paid particular attention to the Middle Corridor, calling it a promising route between the East and the West.

The senator stated that a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan could open new opportunities for the two countries in the South Caucasus and for broader international cooperation.
