We Will Lose Control Over the Situation If We Fail to Create an Isotopic Laboratory, Papoyan
Starting August 13, the first isotopic laboratory in Armenia will begin operations for quality testing of cognac. This announcement was made today during a government meeting by Armenia's Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.
“The capacities of the laboratory that conducts isotopic testing will indeed be modest, with the ability to handle 3-4 samples per day. However, finally, after 34 years, we will be able to resolve this issue. Through three main isotopes, we will be able to determine whether the cognac is produced from grape alcohol, which will enable us to export it,” stated Papoyan.
According to him, the laboratory must be internationally accredited for its certificates to be valid in other countries. “If we cannot achieve this, we will lose control over the situation,” the minister emphasized.
