We Lack a Culture of Certifying Production Quality, Says Deputy Prime Minister

During today’s cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated that if regulations, particularly concerning IT services, are not delicate, comprehensive, and well-thought-out, the so-called finishing of products formed in the virtual domain will simply not be seen in Armenia.

“In this sense, of course, the movement and production of physical goods is one issue, but I agree that we must be very careful about how service producers react to this strategy. We must constantly monitor this issue so that we do not have actions and regulations that will simply change the production place in the virtual domain, meaning we will not have that product and will lack that exportability. In this regard, of course, there is much to be done,” he noted.

“If we do not fully have a quality standard and institutions for certifying that standard, infrastructural development will not yield any results for us. I believe this is a sacred necessity for today’s parallel infrastructural solutions. Today, we have learned to say that 99% of the problems related to exports stem from logistical issues. We have very high-quality products, but we lack a culture of certifying quality in a form understandable to consumers in other countries, proving that this is a quality product,” added Mher Grigoryan.
