We Hope to Avoid Sanctions Against Russia, But We See No Progress: Rubio

In an interview with Fox News, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that recent interactions with representatives of the Russian leadership have not yielded any progress concerning a ceasefire in Ukraine. He noted that despite diplomatic efforts, the Russian side has shown no interest in peaceful resolution, and the bombardment of Ukrainian cities continues.

Rubio pointed out that the U.S. President has 'a lot of options' to increase pressure, ranging from secondary sanctions on Russian oil trade to sectoral and banking restrictions. 'We hope to avoid that and find a path to peace, but no one will wait forever,' he emphasized.
