Trump Makes Strong Statement Regarding Russia
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is not interested in the trade and economic ties between India and Russia. He expressed this on Truth Social.
“I don't care what India is doing with Russia. They can ruin their dead economies together; it’s all the same to me. We do very little trade with India, their tariffs are way too high, among the highest in the world. Similarly, Russia and the United States hardly trade with each other,” the publication noted.
A day earlier, Trump announced the imposition of a 25 percent tariff on goods imported from India starting August 1, citing high tariffs on imports from New Delhi, trade barriers, and the cooperation between New Delhi and Moscow in the energy and weapons sectors.
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, the leader of the White House announced that he is reducing the previously set 50-day deadline for achieving a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine to ten days. If negotiations fail, Trump plans to implement import tariffs, sanctions, or “something else.” At the same time, the American leader admitted that he is not confident in the effectiveness of the restrictions.
