Zakharova on Threats to Bomb Iran’s Nuclear Facilities
Regular threats to strike Iran with new attacks cannot fail to cause serious concern, and the risks of striking nuclear facilities should not be ignored, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“The periodic threats against Iran regarding new missile strikes on its nuclear facilities cannot fail to cause serious concern. The cynicism added to such statements lies in the fact that they come under the guise of fictitious worries about the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Bombing nuclear facilities should not become a standard practice, in other words, an everyday occurrence in international practice. The catastrophic risks associated with this cannot be ignored or, even more so, justified,” Zakharova said during a briefing.
